Changenow fixed rates: deposit deadlines, exact amounts and expired quotes
Updated:Changenow fixed rates preserve the quoted crypto payout when a deposit meets the exchange’s funding conditions. The amount, asset and network must match, and timing matters: broadcasting a transfer does not establish receipt or acceptance. After the funding window expires, the original payout is no longer guaranteed. A late deposit may require processing at a floating rate or a refund, depending on the exchange’s status and available options. Exceptional market conditions can also prevent completion at the original rate.
Sending the right amount before the deadline supports a fixed quote, while blockchain submission alone does not establish payment acceptance.
Fixed output requires a ready deposit
A fixed quote fits an exchange where the required funds can reach the service within the order’s stated funding window. It provides an agreed output amount while the order remains eligible. A floating quote, also called a classic-rate exchange, leaves the final amount exposed to market movements during processing. Its initial payout figure is an estimate.
Readiness includes the sending wallet’s available balance, the selected network and any withdrawal delay at the sending platform. A withdrawal awaiting that platform’s approval has not reached Changenow. If release timing is uncertain, the funding requirement remains unresolved even when the fixed quote looks attractive.
The funding window begins at order creation
Creating the exchange starts its funding window. The Terms of Service require sending the deposit within four minutes of creation and prompt receipt by Changenow after creation. The fixed-rate guide describes ten minutes for arrival; the help center describes twenty minutes of deposit waiting. These statements do not establish one universal acceptance deadline. Confirm your order’s applicable timing before sending. Browsing quotes does not provide an indefinite reservation. Keep the actual order deadline visible while preparing the deposit, and distinguish a funding deadline from an estimated completion time. Any withdrawal queue consumes time before the blockchain transfer begins. Network congestion can add another delay after submission. These are separate sources of delay, and neither extends a fixed quote automatically. A pending transfer can outlast the period during which the original payout remains protected.
Sending, confirmation and acceptance
A transfer must reach the required confirmation state before Changenow can continue processing, even when the wallet already records a successful submission.
Broadcasting the deposit
Broadcasting submits a transaction to the blockchain network. A transaction hash identifies the transfer and allows its blockchain record to be checked. It does not establish that Changenow has accepted the payment under the exchange conditions. The sending platform’s withdrawal record and the service’s deposit status therefore describe different events.
Waiting for sufficient confirmations
Confirmations record the transaction’s inclusion and subsequent progress on the blockchain. Changenow determines the required confirmation count for the relevant network. An order showing Confirming is waiting at this stage; conversion can proceed after sufficient confirmations and any required transaction checks. Network conditions and the transaction fee affect progress, while the service cannot accelerate blockchain confirmation itself. One confirmation visible in an explorer need not satisfy the order’s requirement.
The deposited amount must match the quote
The fixed-rate agreement uses the deposit amount specified for the order, so withdrawal deductions matter when calculating what the receiving address obtains.
Withdrawal deductions and the delivered amount
A sending platform may deduct its withdrawal charge from the amount requested. The displayed withdrawal total can consequently differ from the amount delivered. Use the platform’s final transfer details to establish the deposit amount before authorizing it. The fixed quote already accounts for its own exchange pricing; reducing the deposit yourself changes the agreed input.
Underpayments and overpayments
A deposit smaller or larger than the agreed amount falls under classic-rate exchange terms, subject to minimum-deposit limits. Adding extra funds does not preserve the original quote for a larger conversion. A matching amount also needs the selected asset and network. An address format alone cannot establish the correct network or token, and a wrong-network transfer can require manual investigation.
Fixed-rate availability follows the pair and amount
The selected exchange direction, network combination and amount must support fixed-rate execution before an order can offer a usable fixed quote. A currency’s general availability does not establish fixed-rate support for every pairing. Low liquidity or extreme volatility can restrict the fixed-rate option for particular combinations.
Changenow applies maximum exchange amounts to fixed-rate swaps. The interface reports an amount outside the supported range. Minimum deposits also matter because the exchange must cover network costs; those minimums can change with network conditions. Below-minimum deposits can prevent completion and do not guarantee a refund. Both limits belong to the selected exchange, so a general claim about unrestricted classic swaps does not remove a fixed-rate ceiling.
What happens when a fixed-rate deposit arrives late?
A late deposit loses the original payout guarantee and may need classic-rate processing or a refund, depending on the order’s available resolution options.
Continuing at an available rate
When the original fixed exchange can no longer proceed, an available continuation may use classic-rate terms. The amount can differ from the expired quote. The order page may offer an action selection, while some problems leave only one available action. A late deposit does not promise that both continuation and refund will always appear.
Requesting a refund
Refund eligibility depends on the exchange’s processing state, recoverability of the deposited asset and applicable costs. A refund can return less than the deposit after fees. Very small deposits can be insufficient to cover a return transfer. Support handles cases where the order cannot resolve automatically; the relevant exchange status determines what remains possible.
Rate protection and network costs
The fixed quote includes a reserve for exchange-rate risk, which can make its starting payout differ from the floating estimate for the same input. That reserve forms part of the displayed rate. It is not a universal percentage or a separate fixed-rate bill. Either quote can look more favorable for a particular exchange, so their names alone do not establish the larger payout.
Exchange pricing and the cost of sending the deposit have different roles. The receiving amount shown by the exchange reflects its calculated charges. The sending wallet or withdrawal platform still determines the cost and amount of the outgoing transfer. An external market price can therefore differ from an executable exchange quote even before market movement occurs.
Fixed swaps, balance conversions and recovery choices
The available choice depends on whether funds will arrive through a new deposit, already sit in a Pro balance or belong to an interrupted exchange.
| Choice | Payout basis | Funds involved | Conditions for use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fixed-rate deposit swap | Agreed crypto amount | New external deposit | Supported pair, matching deposit and funding conditions |
| Classic-rate deposit swap | Rate during processing | New external deposit | Supported exchange; initial output remains an estimate |
| Pro Fixed conversion | Locked conversion quote | Account balance | Available balance and supported conversion mode |
| Classic-rate continuation | Available replacement rate | Existing funded exchange | Continuation available after original terms cannot apply |
| Refund | Eligible return after fees | Recoverable deposited funds | Refund remains possible for the processing state |
| An external deposit deadline governs a deposit swap; a balance conversion and a refund have different prerequisites. | |||
Pro Fixed conversions use an account balance within the custodial account service, which uses third-party custody. Account access and the conversion’s own conditions govern that option. A later withdrawal from the account is a separate operation.
A quoted payout and a completed exchange
The final payout requires completed conversion and delivery, and exceptional market conditions can prevent execution even when fixed-rate mode was selected. Where the original rate becomes unavailable, the applicable options can include market-rate exchange or return of the cryptocurrency. Exchanging means conversion is underway; Sending to your wallet means the service is arranging the outgoing transfer. A confirmed incoming transfer establishes delivery to the recipient address on the selected network. An order still showing a processing stage does not establish that the payout has reached that address.
Changenow fixed rates questions, answered
Can one blockchain transaction fund several fixed-rate deposits?
Changenow accepts only one deposit per blockchain transaction ID. If a transaction contains more than one deposit, Changenow will not honor the quoted rate or complete the exchange. Contact support to request a refund. A combined total does not override that transaction-level restriction.
Will a fixed quote remain usable if I omit the deposit memo?
A required deposit memo identifies the payment for the exchange. Without it, the service may not recognize the deposit and the exchange cannot proceed normally. Missing identification can delay processing beyond the funding window, so support may need to investigate the transfer.
Does choosing a fixed rate prevent an identity check?
Fixed-rate selection does not exempt an exchange from identity or transaction checks. Where Changenow’s terms require Know Your Customer verification for your jurisdiction, you must complete it before using the service. Risk monitoring can also place a transaction on hold for further review. Those requirements affect whether processing can proceed, independently of the quoted payout.
Can a fixed-rate refund go to a newly supplied address?
A refund can use the original sending address or the refund address specified when creating the exchange. Changenow’s refund rules do not permit a new address supplied afterward. This matters when funding through a platform whose sending address does not directly credit returns to your account.
Are fixed quotes identical in every wallet integration?
Fixed quotes can differ between integrations because partners can configure commissions for specific pairs and exchange flows. A fixed label describes the quotation method, not a universal payout across interfaces. Compare the actual quoted output for the same input and networks, while retaining each order’s funding conditions.
What happens if I reuse an old fixed-rate deposit address?
A previous deposit address does not establish a new fixed-rate order. Changenow generally generates one-time exchange addresses, while some currencies use a shared address and require an order-specific memo. The current order’s deposit instructions determine which address and identifier apply.
Can I reverse a completed fixed-rate exchange after the market recovers?
A completed fixed-rate exchange cannot be reversed because the market later moves in your favor. Once the exchange has completed and the payout is on the blockchain, ordinary refund eligibility has ended. A later conversion would use a new exchange and its own conditions.
